Country Coach, a Junction City-based recreational vehicle manufacturer, could shut down permanently if it can’t find new financing by the end of February, according to news reports.
CEO Jay Howard sent the news to employees in a Dec. 30 letter, indicating that even if the company does get financing by Feb. 28, it still expects “mass layoffs,” the Register-Guard of Eugene reported in its Wednesday edition.
The company now employs 500, but has as many as 1,700 workers in 2006, the paper reported.
