Agilent Technologies to Cut Another 2,700 Jobs

According to DowJones, WSJ: “Agilent Technologies Inc. (A) shares gained after the company said it is eliminating another 2,700 jobs, its third round of cuts since December, as it tries to cope with huge drops in revenues.

Including 1,400 job cuts previously announced, the scientific instrument maker has now cut about 20% of its global work force and will now restructure two of its three units.”

Agilent Technologies To Cut 600 Jobs

According to CNNMoney: “Agilent Technologies Inc. (A) said it will cut 600 jobs, or about 3% of its work force, as it reported fiscal first-quarter net income dropped 47% on lower sales because of the recession.

The cuts are in addition to those announced in December, when the company said it had 20,000 employees.

Agilent, which makes machines to analyze DNA, chemicals, sound waves and other items, said it would immediately close two small board-inspection businesses and begin restructuring its global infrastructure operations.”

Agilent to cut 800 jobs in restructure plan

According to Reuters: “Agilent Technologies Inc (A.N) on Wednesday said it would implement temporary global pay cuts and lay off 300 temporary workers and 500 regular employees in units that have been severely hit by the economic downturn.”

  • Agilent Technologies Inc, which makes electronics testing gear, said it would record a $55 million pre-tax restructuring charges, mainly related to employee severance costs.
